Our next camp is carrying on the theme of the Fitness Challenge badge that is the focus for this term. We will be trying some new activities and looking at different and fun ways to keep active.

We are camping at Gilwell Park, Chingford, a very important location in Scouting. The money to purchase Gilwell Park was donated in 1918 by William McLaren and his vision to provide somewhere for Scouts from London to camp and play complemented Baden Powells vision to have a training centre for Scout Leaders. The first Scout Leaders were given the Wood Badge at the end of their training - a leather bootlace with wooden beads. This tradition still continues today, Claire and John were awarded their Wood Badges at the end of last year, whilst Paul and I are working towards ours as we speak.

Details regarding the camp are as follows:

Total Cost: £25
Location: Gilwell Park Chingford
Drop Off: Friday 22nd March 2013 at 19.00
Pick Up: Sunday 24th March 2013 at 12.00

This is a camp, so Scouts will need full kit - a kit list will be issued well in advance. Scouts will need to have had their evening meal before they arrive. Drinks and snacks will be served at the end of activities on Sunday before parents collect.

Please complete the slip below (even if your Scout is not intending to attend) to book your place on the camp and enclose a cheque for the full amount of £25.00 by Friday 15th February 2013.
