Trampolining Night Print

Friday (5th Feb) had finally come, and after another hectic week at school, I was glad to be getting away from the hustle and bustle of school life. However, four hours later, I was back in the school; this time with my Scout group. Claire, our Assistant Scout Leader (and qualified trampoline instructor), had arranged a two hour trampolining session using the trampolines in the school sports hall. After everyone had arrived we started. To begin, we warmed up by doing a short game run by Gareth. Then John (also an ASL) and Claire took over with stretches and exercises to prepare us for the trampolines. Claire explained and demonstrated the four different jumps we could do, which included the Tuck jump, the Pike, the Straddle and the seat drop. To keep us under control while we weren’t on the trampolines, we were split into 2 groups. Each group had 45 minutes on the trampoline whilst the other group had to write about a certain sport of their choice. This was a part of the work to get the Fitness Badge, which is our aim for this term.

The trampolining was a hit with everyone, even those who don’t like sports. I don’t think many people realised how technical trampolining actually was!!
