Every year we run a week long summer camp for the Scouts. Each year is a different theme as follows Jamboree (Essex), Patrol Camp (Scout Campsite), International Camp (International Campsite - bunkhouse) and a touring camp. This cycle fits in with the 4 year Jamboree cycle and we therefore encourage all Scouts to go to every camp if they can because they only come around once during their tenure with us.

For our week long summer camp in July 2018 we are going abroad to the International Scout Centre at Kandersteg in Switzerland. This is a fantastic opportunity for all of our Scouts, made even better for the parents by the fact that it is going to be heavily subsidised.

Kandersteg is described as a permanent Scout Jamboree, with the addition of exciting outdoor activities that you cannot do at any other Scout Centre/campsite.

Please note that this will be the only opportunity for your child to go to an international scout centre because we only do an international camp every 4 years.

Dates

We will be leaving on the 21st July 2018, returning on the 29th July 2018, times yet to be finalised.

Cost

The cost of this camp will be £600, where the Scouts pay £250 & raise £350 throughout the year (September 17 - July 18).

Location

Kandersteg is situated in the South West of Switzerland in the Bernese Oberland region 50km south of Bern. The International Scout Centre sits at the south end of the town of Kandersteg, about 2km from the village centre.

Travel

To get there we will fly from a Heathrow airport to Geneva and then a coach to Kandersteg.

Camp Scarf

The camp scarf for this camp will be a grey scarf, with different colour borders for each team (Red, Blue, Green). An example is shown, using a light blue scarf, with a blue border.
