Scouting was first formed by Lord Baden Powell in 1907 and has developed into the largest youth organisation in the world. We have recently celebrated our Centenary year and are now looking forward to the next 100 years!

 1964

5th Billericay first appeared on the District Census in January therefore 5th Billericay must have started in 1963 or earlier.

We had 13 Cubs and 7 Scouts with 2 Leaders.

  
 19675th Billericay closed down.
  
 19715th Billericay was registered again on the district register on the 9th February.
  
 19741st Great Burstead started in 1974 as 5th Billericay (Great Burstead) by 1976 they were large enough and became a Group in their own right. This is why 1st Great Burstead have an orange border to their scarves.
